Please adhere to the date you chose for storing of your unit(s) for any of the scheduled dates when units will be stored this year before bringing the unit(s) to the facilities.

If these dates and/or times do not meet your scheduling needs it is possible to make special arrangements, but a convenience fee will be charged and that fee will be determined based on the amount of time needed to get your unit situated in the storage building. The minimum convenience fee for non-scheduled dates & times for one hour or less will be $50.00.


NOTE: All units must be removed by April 19, 2027. ANY UNIT REMAINING AFTER APRIL 19, 2027 WILL BE CHARGED A $50.00 PER DAY LATE PICK-UP FEE We can discuss any difficulties that may arise from these date expectations.



General Information

  • All units will be tagged with appropriate information as they are stored.
  • We may ask that keys be left for some of the motorized vehicles stored in certain areas in our storage facilities.
  • We do not plan to move units, but sometimes we must accommodate someone that has a special need or if an emergency arises.
  • We would like all units to remain in storage until Saturday April 1, but will honor your request to have your unit(s) removed prior to April 5, if you let us know prior to storing the unit THIS FALL.
  • Those wishing to have early removal privileges will need to call in advance to get the unit out.
  • We need to place those “early out” units strategically for early removal.
  • Those storing their units early are generally expected to leave them in storage the full length of the scheduled storage time.
  • All storage are to be by date.
  • Do not bring units to the fairgrounds or come to pick up units from storage without having a date.
  • All boats with foldable tops, must be folded down to enable them to be put into the barns.
  • All boat trailers with hydraulic locks for the brakes on the tongue, must leave pin to be able to move trailer backwards.

Pricing

The rental rate is $23.00 per linear foot for all rental units.


How to measure for Pricing:

Automobiles and motor homes are measured bumper to bumper and travel trailer and boat length is to include the tip of the hitch to the farthest point on the rear of the boat or trailer. (Calculated to the nearest whole foot) Please measure your unit carefully before calculating the cost of rental for the season. Measurements that are questionable will be re-measured by the fair storage staff when the units are brought to the storage facility.


Winter Storage Agreement

THE PORTER COUNTY FAIR & EXPO CENTER ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INSURING ANY UNITS STORED AT OUR FACILITY. INSURANCE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LESSEE. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ACKNOWLEDGE A HOLD HARMLESS STATEMENT AS PART OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT.

The Porter County Ag Society (Fair Board) is offering this storage on the Porter County Fair premises. All risk of loss or damage to the personal property stored in the leased space shall be borne by the lessee whether such loss be caused by fire, theft, water, storm, or otherwise. Lessee agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the lessor from all liabilities or claims of whatever nature caused or created by the actions or conduct of the lessee, his agents, servant, or employees on the premises maintained by the lessor and of which the leased space is part. The lessee agrees that insurance is to be provided at their expense on their unit(s) stored and held throughout the period of said lease. This Agreement does not constitute a bailment. The Lessee understands that a bailor/bailee relationship does not exist. If any claim is brought under this Agreement, Lessee shall be responsible for all of Lessor's reasonable costs including attorney's fees, expenses, and any interest allowable by law. This Agreement is governed under the laws of the State of Indiana. All claims arising under this Agreement shall be brought in front of the Porter County Superior Court in Valparaiso, Indiana.

In addition, you can participate in our annual Best of Fair Food contest to get even more exposure and acclaim during fair week!

Located an hour's drive from Chicago and three hours north of Indianapolis, the population in Porter County exceeds 130,000, with annual fair attendance closer to 150K. Our advertising data has shown we draw crowds from beyond Northwest Indiana, reaching Indianapolis, Ohio, Illinois, and beyond. Eight major highways lead into Porter County, including the I-80/90 Toll road. US 30 runs just one mile north of the fairgrounds, and intersects with IN-49, a highway that leads to the grounds.

You are sure to benefit from the constant flow of foot traffic on our Midway and through our food court.

RENTAL Information

Concessionaire hours are Noon - 11:00 PM CDT each day

Each Concessionaire is required to carry insurance. Concessionaire must provide copies of proof of insurance to Concessions Superintendent prior to set up of food truck or trailer on the grounds. There is limited outdoor availability and space sizes vary.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Each application for space rental during the Porter County Fair shall be considered by management on the basis of:


A. Product balance on the fairgrounds.

B. Uniqueness and appeal of product to fairgoers.

C. Ability to set up a professional, attractive display.


Selection and space rental is not guaranteed. The Porter County Fair has sole discretion in selecting applicants and may deny applicants as it so chooses.


CONCESSION LOCATION

Management shall assign concession space so as to provide fairgoers with a well-balanced show, which facilitates exposure to exhibits while allowing free flow of movement throughout the grounds.


All business transactions, regardless of their name, must be done within the perimeter of the leased space. Conducting business outside of Concessionaire’s leased space will not be permitted by any personnel. No walking handouts are permitted.


RENTAL RATES

$1,200 or 15% of Gross Sales after Sales Tax, whichever is greater.


A daily report of gross sales will be required during the duration of the Porter County Fair.


INSURANCE

A Certificate of Insurance must be submitted prior to the start of the Porter County Fair.
